Quick Weekend Getaways

Feeling the need for a quick getaway? A beautiful drive?  Ever thought about the Buffalo River in Arkansas? 

We recently took a gorgeous 3 hour drive to a well appointed cabin overlooking the Ozark Mountains, complete with deer and wild turkey feeding in the yard, hammock, a wraparound deck for sunsets, and a hot tub for soaking in while stargazing.  This large cabin had all the amenities needed, including a full kitchen, barbeque grill on deck, game library, and living area with overstuffed couches. Not to mention an incredibly comfortable bed and antique soaking tub. For romance, relaxation, comfort, and beauty, this cabin gets a 5 star rating!  And for a great price too. 

We left early in the morning and ate a delicious lunch at one of the many unique restaurants in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Try one on the historical town square, or on famous Dickson Street.

Hiking is incredible around the Buffalo River. May I suggest the Hawksbill Crag or Lost Valley Hikes. Take a picnic lunch to Hawksbill and eat on the most photographed boulder in Arkansas - high above the valley! Or take a flashlight to Lost Valley and crawl through one of the caves to a hidden antechamber. Or get up early and head to Steel Creek Campground with a cup of coffee and watch the fog lift as the sun rises!
